Islands Petroleum is an independently owned fuel and lubes distributor in Papua New Guinea with many years of experience in the fuel industry. We are the exclusive distributor of Mobil lubricants countrywide. With the head office based in Rabaul, East New Britain province, Islands Petroleum has depots in Kimbe, Kavieng, Alotau, Popondetta, Orobay and lubes offices in Lae, Port Moresby and Madang. Islands Petroleum started as a transport company in the 1980s and our association with Mobil began as a transport provider. We went on to run the Mobil fuel depots of Rabaul, Kimbe and Kavieng. In 2005 Islands Petroleum acquired the depot properties in these locations and expanded our network to include Alotau and Popondetta / Oro Bay. In 2008, Islands Petroleum attained the sole distributorship of Mobil lubricants nationwide, which prompted the opening three new lubes branches in Lae, Port Moresby and Madang. At Islands Petroleum we pride ourselves on our experience in providing solutions to any lubes or fueling requirement whether it is mining, industrial, automotive or marine. We own and operate a fleet of bulk tankers and package trucks in all our depots and branches providing exceptional delivery services for our customers. In 2008, Islands Petroleum was presented with the ExxonMobil Award of Appreciation in recognition for its outstanding service and dedication to distributing Mobil lubricants.
