Role purpose

Produce engineering deliverables for procurement   of mechanical equipment and packages; coordinate with suppliers, review   supplier data, provide equipment interface inputs to engineering team; review   and monitor mechanical design executions in the project. Successful   delivery of package management of all Company projects ensuring package is   completed on schedule, at the right quality and within the budget

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Progress reporting
  • Compile squad check of inter-discipline   engineering document.
  • Conduct technical liaison with vendors   to ensure purchase of compliant equipment, control of supplier interface, and   coordination of interfaces with other engineering disciplines
  • Expedite vendor package
  • Review and verify related detail design   engineering documents
  • Review and comment vendor documentation   and compile comments from other discipline
  • Expedite and distribute vendor   documentation urgently via document control
  • Prepare material requisitions
  • Prepare Technical Bid Evaluation for   item to be purchased
  • Review Vendor bid package and conduct   technical liaison with other engineering disciplines during bid stage
  • Ensures review of or prepare package   technical specification with   multi-discipline engineers
  • Liaise & coordinate with Client, BAE   discipline engineer, vendor, supplier & fabrication contractor on the   matters pertaining to the technical aspect of the project with reference to   the client’s contract requirement and specification.
  • Provide equipment engineering expertise   during Management of Change (MOC), pre-FEED, FEED and detailed engineering
  • Ensure timely involvement of Lead   Mechanical Engineer and other Discipline engineers in the verification of   outputs to achieve required levels of interfaces in bid proposals, design,   management of change and project related issues.
  • Support the plan in mechanical   equipment procurement engineering for review and incorporation of vendor   data, inspection, testing, timely delivery and acceptance.
  • Know and apply baseline engineering   standards for performance standard compliance.
  • Support the plan in mechanical   deliverable register and meet the target dates for deliverables submission   in-line with the overall Project schedule.
  • Support overall mechanical discipline man-hour and budget.
  • Know and apply all technical design criteria as required by the Client specification for mechanical discipline.
  • Assist Lead Mechanical Engineer / Project   Manager in FPSO project/package execution   to fulfill contractual needs.

Requirements :

Qualification Requirements:

  • Education Qualification Degree in Mechanical Engineering, post-graduate degree is an advantage
  • Minimum 8 years of equipment experience in oil & gas; marine or shipbuilding related industry) with at least 5 years in oil & gas design/engineering.
  • Demonstrated success in past project involvement and technical delivery of large sized projects with global customers.
  • Substantial Mechanical Equipment design experience on multi discipline projects within the Oil and Gas, petrochemical or related Industries. This experience should cover Conceptual, FEED and detailed design.
  • Proven experience of selection, specification, design, construction of equipment packages.
  • Possess a positive, hardworking attitude as well as a drive to find solutions to each problem.
  • Possess high degree of independence and good verbal / written communication skills with ability to interact across multiple disciplines.

  • Able to work independently and as a team
  • Flexible and adaptable
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • A high level of computer literacy

 Other Requirement:

Possessing a balance of Knowledge, skills and behaviour competencies to support Project objectives and using work processes that enhance efficiencies and quality of output can overcome the challenges.

  • Meet tight project schedule for the engineering/project deliverables
  • Quality shall meet BAB/Client/International standards and specifications
  • Ability to solve site related issues
